FAO Steve Walker

Dear Steve

On behalf of the site team at RAF Waddington, I would like to thank you and your employees for the recent works with our Cold Recycled Bound Material (CRBM). Your site team were very helpful and flexible, ensuring that this work was carried out efficiently and with minimal downtime.

The works information required us to strengthen a number of existing manholes, to bring them up to the latest MADS standards. This is known as Delethalisation.

The CRBM was used as an alternative to conventional lean-mix concrete. The CRBM was designed using recycled runway planings with added cement, but without the use of additional sand. Cement was collected from a local supply silo, however for larger quantities (in excess of 100 cu.m. per day), we would consider a site based silo.

After loading the screened planings from site stock, your mobile “Spot-On” volumetric batching vehicle provided the ideal plant for the installation works, enabling on-site mixing and supply on demand.

Please see the attached Engagement Bulletin circulated in Carillion for you use and information.

Kind regards
